Popularity Assessment
Boundaries of this area are bit hazy so I prepared the list with some exclusions. Backend frameworks like express, spring are excluded (though they provide options for web development). Also the Content Management Systems like WordPress,Drupal are out of scope.
A list of 15 front-end technologies is compiled here. Trends are assessed based on the data collected from Google, Github and Stackoverflow.
Though I have made my best efforts in identifying all the major players, there is a fair chance that few of them are missed out. If you really think there is a must-to-include technology missed out in the list, please let me know.
Most popular frameworks on GOOGLE
If a developer is interested in learning a technology, the first thing he or she does is to check the tutorial of it on Google. I used Google Keyword Planner to assess how many search requests did happen for each of the technologies in the list.
